Legg
In late spring of 2007 we were hired to design and build a pool cabana for David and Diane Legg of Amesbury. They had recently installed a built-in pool behind their 1800’s farmhouse. Dave requested the design for the cabana match the post & beam framing and design of the attached barn and barn cupola. In other words he wanted an attached, octagonal post & beam frame structure. Once the design work was approved we located beams for the roof structure at Willow Spring Vineyards in Haverhill, MA. Jim & Cindy Parker, the owners of the vineyard had just deconstructed a barn in Tyngsboro, MA built at approximately the same time. We used 8” x 8” pieces from the old basement frame to fabricate the roof rafters for the cabana. The purlins and roof boards were milled at Estee lumber in Groveland, MA. All the roof parts were assembled in our shop, broken down and reassembled on the octagon frame at the site.
