To push the sustainable building envelope further, we are performing a total gut rehab of a condex at 19-21 Judson Street, Haverhill, MA. We recently constructed two new Energy Star homes at 7 67th Street and 10 68th Street on Plum Island, but this will be our first Energy Star-rated remodeling project.

In early 2005, Kent & Susan Allen of Newburyport hired us to remodel their home on Plum Island.  The Allens tried to get a permit to put a second story on their beachfront home. They hired an architect and submitted plans to the town but had been refused. The town would not allow the expansion of any buildings in the protected area in which the Allens lived.

We proposed a total gut remodel and a redesign of the existing footprint.

In January of 2006, we signed a contract to perform an addition and whole-house remodel for Russ ad Sarah Holden of Newburyport, MA.  Sarah, project manager with an architecture degree and Russ, an engineer, drew the elevations and foor plans for the project. The Holdens paid us to produce the structural drawings required for the building permit. The 16’ x 32’ addition featured a full first-floor bath, mud room, recycling area, and single-stall garage. We remodeled the remainder of the first floor with a new kitchen, office, living room, and sunroom.
