Thank you for visiting to learn about us!
Who are we?
Simple. The word home in our name denotes our focus on all structures and systems that constitute a living space. Energy, of course, describes our desire to make every part of the home energy efficient. Our goal is to design and build the most comfortable, aesthetically pleasing, energy efficient home possible within your budget.
Energy efficiency is a part of everything now
Our first energy efficient home was built in the early 1980’s. Today it is much easier to build an energy efficient home, given all the recent improvements in building products and technologies.
With a little work, virtually any home can be more energy efficient than 80% of the homes in the country. Take it a setp further, and by using hi-tech house wraps, low-E argon- or krypton-filled windows, urethane insulation, and high-efficiency heating and hot water systems, we can build homes that are, for little extra cost, more energy efficient than 90% of homes in the United States. Building Energy Star homes may cost up to 5% more than building traditional stick-built homes, but subsequent energy savings quickly offset any extra costs.
Renewables - now
Renewable technologies, now commonplace, further improve efficiency. Advances in photovoltaics, solar thermal, and geothermal technologies have contributed to success of the burgeoning renewable energy market. We are currently planning and gathering permits to build a low-cost, zero-energy home. With the help of these new developments, we expect to complete the project by the end of the summer. Traditionally, the housing business has resisted change, with infrequent and inconsequential developments.
Choose Home Energy
As you consider who to use for your next remodeling project, consider that our energy efficiency expertise puts us ahead of anybody else you may consider. We will both help keep our planet healthy and reduce your energy costs more than enough to offset the cost of doing your work energy-wise.
